Mtwalumi Holiday Resort

The main feature, other than the beach, is the Mtwalume River which forms a pristine lagoon as it makes its way seawards. The beach, within 700m of the resort, has rock pools for swimming and snorkelling or just to cool off during low tide and a tidal pool which nestles among the rocks with a long natural beach north of the pool. We have excellent rock and surf fishing spots where you can target anything from pan fish to prized game fish and sharks! Mtwalume Ski-boat club provides a safe launch site and host an annual fishing competition.

Our safe and secure resort is situated 1 hour from Durban and The Wild Coast Sun. The bigger towns, Port Shepstone and Scottburgh, are 35km South and North of the resort respectively. Hibberdene, a short 8km away, provides all basic shopping requirements. Further South, the South Coast Mall and Shelly Beach shopping centre provide a haven for shopping sprees and movies on those rainy days. Both Aliwal Shoal and Protea Banks are world renowned dive sites in close proximity to the resort.

For the adventurous a wide range of activities are available in close proximity to our resort. The South Coast is known as South Africa’s Golf Coast and we have 8 of the country’s finest courses within easy driving distance.

Our pet friendly resort offers 30 privately owned self-catering units and 19 grassed camp sites. Facilities within the resort include: kiddies playground equipped with trampolines and a jungle gym, a sparkling swimming pool and fenced off doggie park. A privately owned pub and restaurant offers light meals and entertainment. Children’s entertainment program is provided and advertised during peak periods.
